DELUSIONS
When you look at most illusion knitting you only see narrow stripes from directly in front. The image appears when you look from the side. Delusions are the complete opposite. Looking from the side you only see a plain surface. Stand in front and you see the image.
The rainbow has become the image of 2020 so seemed a good place to start. The image is clear, simple, and unambiguous. The disadvantage is that some of the colours are very bright. They give off a slight glow so there is always a hint of colour.
Out of a grey sky a rainbow appears.
The middle section of the second version has the letters RAINBOW in the seven different colours. They disappear in the same way as the rainbow image. The stripes at top and bottom are normal knitting and are always visible. The pattern includes a version without stripes.
