The Horsemen Illusion is based on M C Escher’s Regular Division of the Plane with Horsemen (1946). It shows two sets of identical horses, one light and one dark, going in opposite directions.
The Birds Illusion is based on M C Escher’s Regular Division of the Plane with Birds (1949). It shows two sets of interlocking birds.
The designs can be seen to best effect when they are completely flat. The edges of the design get distorted when the cushion pads are inside.
Looking straight down, the pictures disappear.
