RUBEUS HAGRID
This illusion was designed to fit on a shawl with Hagrid’s hair extending into the fringe. It could be adapted to be a panel in an afghan, or a rectangular wall-
It is best viewed from the side when it is lying flat or hanging on a wall. It is very difficult to see the illusion when the shawl is being worn, partly because the face is very large and partly because it is distorted as it is pulled round the body. The photograph below shows what you see when you look straight at the shawl and this is what you will see most often as it is worn.
Our original Hagrid was given to a friend who hangs him on the wall when he is not being worn (Shown below)
It’s a perfect location for him as no matter which direction I walk from he is visible most of the time. Walk up the stairs next to him though and he just becomes a striped triangle.
