When you look from the side you see a dark grid with brightly-coloured squares.
From directly in front you see wide stripes in random colours.
The shawl uses lots of oddments of yarn in two contrasting groups of colours. I chose to use 'bright' and 'dark' The colours were used completely at random creating stripes of varying widths. If you prefer, you can use two ‘normal’ plain yarns or either one or two variegated yarns.
